Essers

Essers is a boutique fitness training studio founded in Los Angeles. With a second location opening and more on the way, Essers contracted RDD for a complete website redesign that communicated the boutique, luxury brand they strive to be. The main challenge here was to design something that sells fitness without the cliche design elements that most programs or gyms adopt in their branding.

We accomplished this by combining an elevated serif typeface for the headlines and a playful but professional sans for the body. Avoiding color, we achieve a clean and industrial look that is complimented by ample spacing, concise copy, and beautiful imagery. The fitness element is communicated primarily through the imagery, which highlights Essers' facilities and team with professional photography. Finally, the home page video is funny and playful, a refreshing change from your typical macho gym sales pitch and perfect for the audience that Essers attracts.

After design, we built the site in-house using cutting-edge frameworks and technologies to ensure its long-term performance and reliability.
